Self-Victimization

November 29, 2017 by Alexander Gee

AREN’T WE THROUGH WITH SELF-VICTIMIZATION YET?

As I grow older…and hopefully wiser…I realize that I have fewer and fewer people in my life to blame things on. I am left to face the haunting reality that I have spent way too much time accusing other people of spoiling my success rather than celebrating and assuring my own success. Why give people that much power over our lives? What does that get us besides depressed? As responsible individuals we need to take responsibility for our own lives. What are we modeling for our children if they only see us blaming others for missed opportunities?

Self-Victimization isn’t merely being wronged; it is the reshaping of our reality and identity based upon that wrong which was perpetrated against us. When this happens, the core of our existence then becomes what we’ve endured rather than what we’ve overcome. Self-Victimization is the subtly evil attempt to redefine identity based upon circumstances rather than observing our Divine Design.

Self-Victimization leads to complacency…

Your Complacency shapes

Your Perception, which shapes

Your Attitude, which shapes

Your Energy, which shapes

Your Morale, which shapes

Your Relationships, which shape

Your Accountability, which shapes

Your Expectations, which shape

Your Viable Options, which shape

Your Choices, which shape

Your Fate, which shapes

Your Reality.

So…when we pray and ask God to change our reality, what are we really asking?

Can we ask this of God without expecting God to challenge our: complacency, perception, attitude, energy, awareness of viable options and choices?

Change is a very hard, but intentional decision. Make the decision to live victoriously, today! Your life is too precious for God to have placed it entirely in the hands of others. You have a say-so in whether you are a doormat or not! Turn from the deception that convinces you that victimization is true power. In reality, victimization only permits us to live mediocrely because it takes more energy to dumb down than it does to live authentically. You’re better than that!

Remember…you can’t help others be victorious if you are perpetually the victim.

Live life fully!
