Integrity

What’s your preference, being liked or being respected?
Sometimes we’re liked because we’ve become a commodity to others. However, when we become consistent in our integrity, our resolve and our convictions ~ therefore refusing to bend to every whim of those who would benefit from our worth ~ we will be respected. So I ask . . . are you likeable or respectable? #Geeisms

Promises are powerful things! We remember them accurately when made to us ~ we forget quickly when made by us. Seek to be a keeper of your promises! Make good on a promise that you’ve broken/forgotten and let me know about it, please. #Geeisms

It’s better to be respected than to be merely liked. If you refuse to bend to a person’s expectation of you, they may choose to dislike you. However, if you’re respected it’s probably due to the fact that you’re fair, consistent, and reliable. The bar for respect is much higher (and more noble) than the bar for being liked. Aim high.

The very first step towards personal development and self-improvement is being honest with yourself about where you really are currently. This is where truth-tellers . . . (those loyal friends, who, out of love, tell us the truth no matter what) . . . come in handy. I believe that we can do great things in life if we’re more self-aware and honest about our attitudes, fears, and insecurities that hold us down. Complacency is a great enemy of the soul because it makes us comfortable with mediocrity, and that’s very dangerous. The worst kind of entrapment is one that appears to serve us well. So, what steps are you willing to take in order to acknowledge where you’re stuck so that you can be propelled ahead? If we are not aware of where we are stuck . . . we’ll ignore all viable opportunities that come our way to free us. You were not created to be enslaved to anything but Love.

To me, being destined for greatness should also mean being rooted in humility. I’m committed to both!!

Hardships may refine us, however, they do not define us. Character is not shaped by prosperity, but rather by the process of developing faith and trust in the dreaded “meanwhile.” Don’t throw the towel in yet. You’ve probably got lots of living to do yet. It gets rough at times, however, this is not your defining moment. It is your refining moment. #Geeisms
