Mistreated But Not Defeated!

Mistreated but Not Defeated!
Harsh words, harsh people, have made you feel real small
Self-worth, self-love, and self-esteem, don’t even exist at all
Frustration, fears, and secret pains, you try to lock inside
You put up fronts and you masquerade, just so you can hide
you internalize the wretched cries, you just want to fit in
You’re afraid to fight with all your might, you feel you’ll never win
Your moods sway, you push love away, you feel no one suffers like you
And when you feel good, you don’t think you should, hence the cycle starts anew
Friends and loved ones have burned you, you’ve no one to turn to, you feel you alone should be blamed
You’re distressed and oppressed, and always upset, and you always feel ashamed
But now we who have Christ need not sacrifice, the joyous life He gives
The spirit reminds us, to put Satan behind us, we have victory for Jesus lives
His love will heal you, releasing the real you, as your burdens roll away
And although you’re mistreated, you’re never defeated, so escape your invisible prison today.
